About the role:
Reporting to the Mining Manager, you will lead the geological work on site from resource to the mine face.
You will identify and execute business improvement opportunities in conjunction with the mining engineering team.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Collection, management, and interpretation of geoscientific data
- Planning and scheduling in-mine geological activities
- Overseeing geological grade control processes to ensure a high standard of QAQC is maintained
- Monthly reconciliation of the ore and waste with the mining engineers
- Manage the infill drilling program
- Manage the on the ground exploration and reserve drilling
- Clearly communicate operational requirements to employees, managers and contractors.
- Tertiary qualifications in Geology
- Relevant geological experience with minerals sands mining (desirable)
- Software experience - Surpac (essential)
- Attention to details and effective communication skills
- C Class manual WA driver’s licence
- Able to pass a medical and drug/alcohol screen.
