We are seeking an experienced Open Pit Drill and Blast Engineer to join our client, a reputable Australian gold mining company with multiple sites, on an 8/6 FIFO roster via Perth. Reporting to the Open Pit Mining Superintendent, this position is key design and execution of drill and blast activities in the open pit mining operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver detailed drill and blast designs, including drill plans, blast packs, tie-ins, and reconciliation plans
- Monitor blast effectiveness and conditions; maintain systems for data tracking and reconciliation
- Support geological, surveying, and mine planning teams with technical engineering input
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and reporting system development
- Conduct software and planning gap analyses to support operational decision-making
- Actively contribute to a strong safety culture aligned with company values.
- Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering (or equivalent)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and mining software including Vulcan, Deswik, Reconcilor, and Orica ShotPlus
- Demonstrated experience in drill and blast
- Experience developing mine tracking and reconciliation systems
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced operational team.
- 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth
