Environmental Advisor Mining and Closure

An exceptional opportunity has emerged with a leading tier 1 gold mining company, seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Environmental Advisor to join their accomplished and forward-thinking team. This 6-month contract position is based at one of the company’s most productive and high-yield gold mine sites. 

Key responsibilities include: 
  • Support and improve the company’s environmental management systems 
  • Update and enhance reclamation and closure planning 
  • Assist with studies related to mine expansions and closures and offer recommendations into strategic decision-making 
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure Mine closure planning and projects are executed successfully 
  • Communications around regulatory and technical requirements as it pertains to mining operations and closure rehabilitation.
The successful candidate will possess a strong blend of technical expertise; proactive communication skills and stakeholder engagement abilities will be essential. They will have strong attention to detail around Environmental management systems, compliance and mine closure processes and will be committed to sustainability and rehabilitation planning and execution. 
 
Other key requirements include: 
  • Relevant science tertiary qualification and 3 years relevant experience 
  • Project management (desirable
  • Experienced in MS Office software – Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Excellent priority management skills on multiple concurrent projects 
  • Awareness of mine, WHS, heritage and environmental legislation and regulations.
