Exploration Manager

Australia-based leadership role with regular travel to South America

Our client is a dual-listed copper exploration company with an extensive portfolio of exploration licenses in South America. With a maiden drill program currently underway, and preliminary indications for IOCG and porphyry copper- gold mineralisation, they are well positioned to help meet the world’s increasing demand for copper.

MPI is seeking an experienced Exploration Manager, based in Australia, to lead and coordinate early-stage exploration activities across multiple targets. This is a hands-on leadership role managing an international team and driving fieldwork execution in-country.

Key responsibilities:

Lead the exploration strategy across multiple targets and phases
Manage and support in-country teams, prioritising safety and operational excellence
Collaborate with local teams on permitting activities and regulatory compliance
Ensure all exploration data meets reporting standards under JORC.

The ideal candidate will have:

Fluency in Spanish (native speaker preferred)
Degree in Geology and ability to act as Competent Person (JORC)
Proven experience leading early-stage exploration programs, ideally in copper or other base and precious metals
Strong South American operational experience
Demonstrated ability to build cohesive, safety-focused teams in international environments.
