Tickets & training courses

Various sites have different requirements but for the most part, we recommend looking into obtaining some or all of the following tickets:

A minimum HR Drivers Licence is generally required for surface operating roles. A full C class Drivers Licence is required for drilling and underground operating roles.

Working at Heights

Career progression

Drillers usually start in a Drillers Offsider role
Trainee Truck Drivers typically get their start in a mining town like Kalgoorlie, WA or Mount Isa, QLD. Career progression for Truck Operators includes being trained on other machinery i.e. dozers, graders, watercarts and diggers/shovels
Underground candidates usually start off as a Nipper and are then trained in other roles i.e Underground Truck Operator, Service Crew, Bogger Operator, Grader Operator, Charge Up, Jumbo Operator. You can then move into Shift Boss role (certification required) and eventually into Underground Foreman role.
