Staying busy isn’t the same as feeling valued, and it’s not the same as doing your best work. This role is built for experienced mobile maintenance leaders who want clarity, trust, and the chance to run maintenance properly without politics, constant change or unnecessary pressure.
This is a site‑based Mine Maintenance Superintendent role within a large, long‑life open pit operation in Kalgoorlie. Residential in Kalgoorlie, with a stable 5:2, 4:3, 9 hour day roster and a clearly defined scope. No guessing what “good” looks like — it’s well understood and achievable.
This role gives you ownership of mobile fleet maintenance performance.
You’ll:
- Lead mobile maintenance teams and major contractors across a large open pit operation
- Own fleet availability and reliability for trucks, loaders, dozers, excavators and support equipment
- Work directly with mining and planning teams to support safe, efficient production
- Make practical, on‑the‑ground decisions with real authority
- Set the standard for safety, discipline, and consistent execution
- Develop supervisors and trades through visible, everyday leadership
- This is not a desk-heavy asset role. You’ll be in the field, close to the equipment and the people, where your judgement actually matters.
The operation is stable, well resourced, and backed by a long mine life. Expectations are clear, and leaders are supported rather than micromanaged.
People stay because:
- Their experience is respected
- Decisions stick
- Workloads are realistic for the roster
- Safety and standards genuinely matter
- The future of the operation is clear.
This role suits someone who:
- Has strong experience in mobile maintenance within open pit mining
- Has operated as a Maintenance Superintendent, Maintenance Manager, or senior mobile leader
- Is comfortable leading contractor‑heavy environments
- Understands heavy mobile fleets inside out
- Brings a calm, practical leadership style under pressure
- Holds a relevant trade qualification (leadership or engineering qualifications are well regarded)
- You’ll be joining an operation where your contribution is visible, valued, and supported — not buried under layers of process.
