If you enjoy logging core and want a steady stream of work in front of you, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
Join a busy residential Kalgoorlie operation where you'll be part of an established geology team supporting active drilling programs. Rather than waiting around for the next campaign, you'll have the chance to stay engaged, build momentum, and see your work contribute directly to mining decisions.
This is an operational logging role suited to someone who enjoys working in a productive environment. You'll primarily be logging diamond core, with training and support provided to help you develop the site-specific skills and efficiency needed to succeed. The focus is on maintaining quality while building confidence in a high-volume logging environment.
When logging demand slows, you'll remain involved by assisting with core orientation, XRF data collection, and other core yard activities. It's a team-first environment where initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to pitch in are genuinely valued.
The role is offered on either a 5/2 or 4/3 residential roster, giving you consistency and work-life balance without extended time away from home. Standard days are 11 hours, and the initial contract is expected to run for around five months, with a strong likelihood of continuation if the fit is right for both parties.
You'll be joining one of Australia's largest and most established gold mining operations, working within a long-life mining environment backed by significant ongoing investment and a strong pipeline of work.
This Role Will Suit You If You Have:
- A degree in Geology, Applied Geology or Earth Sciences
- Previous diamond core logging experience within mining or exploration environments
- Strong logging skills across lithology, alteration, mineralisation and structural geology
- The ability to maintain accuracy while working efficiently in a production-focused environment
- A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to assist with broader core yard activities when required.
If you're looking for a contract role where you can utilise your geology skills every day, stay close to the action, and join a team that values productivity without compromising quality, we'd like to hear from you.
