If you enjoy RC drilling but are tired of moving between short programs, this is an opportunity to join a well-funded gold project with a strong pipeline of work and genuine potential to stay longer term.
Initially, you’ll support an upcoming RC Resource Definition drilling program near Kalgoorlie, working across multiple rigs. It’s a three-month contract to start with, with a view to extend as the program progresses.
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day geology around the rigs, including chip logging, sampling, QAQC and drill management. You’ll work closely with senior site geologists and drilling contractors, with an experienced team around you for support.
The program is well planned and properly resourced, so you’ll be stepping into an organised drilling campaign rather than another short, stop-start program.
There’s also potential beyond the initial RC work. If you have previous open pit experience, there may be an opportunity to transition into a Mine Geologist role in the future. If drilling is where you want to stay, there is also a solid pipeline of work ahead.
The role is FIFO from Perth on an 8/6 roster, Tuesday to Tuesday, flying into Kalgoorlie. Accommodation is provided in shared housing, along with a daily food allowance for self-catering.
What you’ll need:
- Previous WA gold experience
- Experience logging RC samples
- Current manual driver’s licence
- Section 26 preferred, not essential.
This is a good fit for a geologist who wants continuity, a well-supported RC program and the opportunity to broaden their experience over time.
If this sounds like it could be worth exploring, apply now and we’ll be in touch.
Unfortunately, MPI are only able to consider people with appropriate and relevant experience, and who are either Australian Permanent Residents or have the necessary permits to work in Australia and whom are currently in Australia.
