Principal Mining Engineer
We are recruiting a Principal Mining Engineer for a prominent WA gold producer, the role is a permanent staff role working on an 8/6 roster.

- Partner with the Mining Manager to develop and deliver effective planning and budgeting processes
- Collaborate with senior leadership to shape and execute a strategic Life of Mine (LOM) plan
- Prepare and manage the mining budget, ensuring alignment with operational objectives
- Assess resources and reserves, providing accurate evaluations to support operational teams
- Identify potential risks, communicate them proactively, and oversee the implementation of preventative measures
- Ensure corrective actions are developed and applied to address any adverse operational trends
- Establish contingency plans for high-probability risks with potential negative impacts on operations
- Monitor internal and external factors to identify opportunities for performance improvement and risk reduction
- Present recommendations clearly and drive successful implementation
- Provide guidance and support to the mining team as needed
- Liaise with the environmental team to secure mining approvals within required timeframes.
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering
- 10 years mining engineering experience, made up of Underground and Open Pit
- Experience managing engineering teams and mentoring other engineers
- Extensive planning and scheduling experience
- Proficient user of Deswik and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills.
