Senior Mining Engineer

We are partnering with growing WA gold producer to recruit a Senior Mining Engineer for their project within WA Goldfields on an 8/6 FIFO roster.

Reporting to the Mining Manager, you will responsible for:
  • Ensure strict adherence to relevant legislation, statutory obligations and company safety standards
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all personnel maintain a safe working environment
  • Ensure daily workplace inspections are completed by competent personnel, with prompt corrective actions taken
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements
  • Lead mine design and scheduling for production and development activities in line with budget and LOM plans
  • Ensure geological information is accurately incorporated into practical designs
  • Drive mine planning outputs that maximise tonnes and grade without compromising safety or compliance
  • Support development and execution of rolling 3-month mining plans
  • Maintain overall operational direction of the underground mining process in alignment with organisational goals
  • Support and operational capability and performance through effective supervision
  • Monitor contractor performance against quarterly and annual KPIs
  • Ensure production targets (tonnage and grade) are achieved while managing costs in line with the approved budget
  • Supervise underground personnel and contractors to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality work
  • Opportunity to act as the Alternate Underground Manager when required, if qualified.
Key requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering
  • Minimum 5-7 years WA Underground mining engineering experience
  • First Class Mining Certificate would be desirable, but not mandatory
  • Extensive production, planning and scheduling experience
  • Strong communication skills.
