A leading mining company is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join their dynamic health and safety team in a 6-month coverage role. As the successful applicant you will drive meaningful TRIFR reductions through strong, visible field leadership, keep all safety management systems current and effective, lift the overall safety culture, build closer connections with every work group, and provide hands-on underground and surface engagement, helping to drive and maintain a stringent safety record at this high-performing underground operation.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead incident investigations, risk assessments, critical risk controls and ISO 45001 audits
- Own standards, SOPs, chemical management system and all site safety documentation/communication
- Conduct regular audits, inspections and underground/surface safety engagements
- Deliver site inductions, OHS meetings and safety presentations
- Drive certification compliance and ensure safety expectations are met.
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
- Lead Auditor certification
- Proven ICAM incident investigation and formal risk assessment experience
- Strong working knowledge of OHS legislation application
- Mining experience (previous underground highly regarded) + valid C class licence.
