Senior Mine Surveyor

An established Australian gold producer is seeking an experienced Senior Mine Surveyor to join its open-pit operations within WA. This is an opportunity to contribute to a long-life project within a supportive, growing mining company where people are genuinely valued.

The opportunity:
In this senior role, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely survey support to open-pit mining operations. Your work will ensure designs are set out correctly, excavations meet engineering specifications, and all survey activities comply with statutory, safety, health, and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain survey control networks aligned with the Mine Survey Code of Practice
  • Conduct volume calculations, stockpile and landform surveys, and pit volume reporting
  • Produce end-of-week and end-of-month survey reports
  • Undertake ore mark-ups, grade control set-outs, and resource hole pickups
  • Complete blast hole surveys and associated volume reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date site plans, services information, and survey records
  • Carry out tenement and lease boundary surveys
  • Monitor slope stability and pit wall movements, including prism and tilt sensor installation
  • Ensure engineered designs are executed to specification
  • Capture and maintain quality production information in both electronic and physical formats.
About you:
  • Experienced open-pit mine surveyor preferred, though underground or civil/construction surveyors looking to transition are also encouraged to apply
  • Tertiary qualification in Surveying (Degree or Diploma) and WA Authorised Mine Surveyor (Grade 2 or higher)
  • 5+ years’ mine surveying experience with strong knowledge of open-pit survey principles
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong, positive approach to safety
  • Current manual driver’s licence and national police clearance
  • Remote pilot licence desirable.
