Senior HR Business Partner
We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Business Partner to operate as the sole HR function for a Gold/Copper mining company in Queensland. This is a hands-on, autonomous role with initial consulting support, but you will quickly take ownership of all HR matters.

About the role:
- Operate as the primary HR contact for the business, reporting directly to the General Manager
- Manage the full HR lifecycle: disputes, recruitment, onboarding, contracts, policy and procedure development, and organisational structure
- Support an operational mining workforce, including FIFO from Brisbane (other QLD locations may be considered)
- Lead organisational change initiatives and ensure compliance with Australian employment laws and Industrial Relations frameworks
- Manage sensitive employee matters, Workers Compensation, and provide independent advice to senior leadership.
- 7+ years’ experience in a Senior HR/HR Business Partner role
- Proven ability to operate autonomously in a standalone HR capacity
- Previous mining industry experience, preferably with onsite or operational workforces
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment laws, IR legislation, and statutory requirements
- Commercially minded with strong business acumen
- Highly skilled in contract negotiation, drafting, and dispute resolution
- Hands-on, practical, and solutions-focused approach
- Excellent written, verbal, and coaching communication skills
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word and Outlook skills.
