Exploration Geologist

If you’re an Exploration Geologist who enjoys being hands-on in the field and wants consistency through a full drilling season, this one’s worth a look.

We’re helping our client build out an experienced exploration crew for a long-term program running mid-February through September 2026, and we’re looking for geologists who are comfortable moving between RC and Diamond drilling, working closely with senior technical staff, and contributing meaningfully to the geological outcomes of the program.

The role operates on a 15/13 FIFO roster, flying ex Perth to Kununurra via commercial flights, followed by a road transfer to site, with future charter flights planned as the program progresses.

You’ll be based at a fully functioning exploration camp, set up to support longer-term field programs, with comfortable facilities and a small gym on site.

The role:
As part of the exploration team, you’ll be involved across both RC and DD programs, supporting senior geologists and working alongside field supervisors and field assistants.

Key responsibilities include:
  • RC and Diamond drilling logging and sampling
  • Geological interpretation and high-quality data collection
  • QA/QC and database support
  • Flexing between RC and DD programs as required
  • Supporting Senior Exploration Geologists and the Field Supervisor on each swing.

About you:
You’ll be someone who enjoys field-based exploration work and can commit to the full season.

We’re ideally looking for:
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in exploration geology
  • Strong RC and Diamond Drilling experience (essential)
  • Comfortable adapting across drilling methods and programs
  • Available to commit from February through September.
If you’re keen to lock in a full season, work within a capable exploration team, and get stuck into consistent RC and DD drilling, apply now for a confidential discussion.

Unfortunately, MPI are only able to consider people with appropriate and relevant experience, and who are either Australian Permanent Residents or have the necessary permits to work in Australia and whom are currently in Australia.
