Cost Control Administrator

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Controller Administrator to support sustaining capital projects within a dynamic mining environment. This is a FIFO opportunity on an 8/6 roster, flying from Perth, Brisbane, Darwin, or Alice Springs, offered on an initial 3-month contract with competitive hourly rates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Validate actuals, commitments, service sheets, and contractor invoices against POs, contracts, and timesheets
  • Identify and flag inconsistencies (hours, WBS, cost centre errors) and follow up with contractors and administrators to resolve issues
  • Assist in preparing accruals for outstanding services and materials
  • Update monthly forecasts and cost trackers under team guidance
  • Support the preparation of monthly cost reports
  • Work across systems including SAP, Ariba, Smartsheet, SharePoint, timesheet portals, and Power BI inputs.
Skills & Competencies
Required:
  • Experience in administrative, finance, or project support roles, preferably within the mining or resources industry
  • Basic understanding of project cost control principles (budgets, actuals, commitments)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive, organised, and reliable approach.
Desirable:
  • Power BI skills or a willingness to learn
  • Diploma in Business, Office Administration, or a related discipline
  • Understanding of project controls or cost management processes.
