Core Logging Geologist

We’re seeking an experienced Core Logging Geologist to join a well-established WA gold operation on a short-term contract, supporting an active drilling program tied closely to underground production and near-mine exploration.

This role requires someone who can step straight in and confidently log diamond core, with a strong technical understanding of gold mineralisation and production-focused drilling programs.

The Opportunity:

• Short-term contract from early February through to late March
• FIFO from Perth to a remote WA gold operation
• 11/3 - 8/6 roster
• Competitive day rate of $650–$750, depending on WA gold experience and years logging core

Key Responsibilities:

• Detailed diamond core logging to support underground production and resource definition
• Logging of lithology, alteration, structure and mineralisation to a high technical standard
• Core handling, marking, photography and sampling support
• Maintaining accurate, consistent geological data in line with site procedures
• Working closely with site geologists to meet production-driven drilling timelines.

What You’ll Need:

• Tertiary qualification in Geology
• Proven diamond core logging experience, ideally supporting underground gold operations in WA
• Strong technical logging skills with the ability to work independently
• Current National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical/drug & alcohol screen
• Availability to commence start of February.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced core logger who enjoys production-focused geology and is looking to pick up a well-structured short-term contract.
