Exploration Geologist

MPI are seeking an experienced Rig Geologist to support an active gold exploration program on a contract basis, running through to end of April 2026. This is a hands-on, site-based role suited to someone comfortable living on the rigs and working closely with drilling crews.

You’ll be responsible for supervising RC and diamond drilling, ensuring sample quality and data integrity, and completing detailed geological logging, mapping and sampling to support exploration targeting. The role also involves managing contractors and day-to-day field logistics, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to geological interpretation and modelling where required, while working within strong safety and environmental standards.

This role will suit a degree-qualified Geologist with at least two years’ experience in a similar rig-based position, ideally with gold exploration exposure in Western Australia. You’ll be confident across drill supervision, logging and field operations, able to work autonomously, and comfortable in a fast-paced exploration environment.

The contract offers competitive daily rates and the opportunity to work with a well-regarded exploration team on an active program through to April 2026.
