Mine Superintendent

We are pleased to be partnering with a great client of ours to recruit a Mine Superintendent on a FIFO 5/2 roster to oversee mining operations at their project within WA.

Commencing in February, this opportunity is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with potential to extend. Milestone-based bonuses are also on offer for achieving key project outcomes.

Reporting to the Managing Director, your key responsibilities will include:

Acting as client on-site representative and primary interface with the mining contractor
Overseeing daily open pit mining operations to ensure safe, compliant and efficient execution
Monitoring contractor performance against scope, schedule, budget and production targets
Demonstrating strong safety leadership and ensuring compliance with statutory and company requirements
Providing operational reporting, input into mine planning and continuous improvement initiatives
Supporting mobilisation, start-up and ramp-up of the operation.

Key requirements:

Minimum 10 years’ experience in open pit gold mining operations, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role
Strong contractor management experience
A practical, delivery-focused mindset suited to short mine life projects
Excellent safety leadership and communication skills.
