Field Assistant

If you’re chasing fieldwork where the drilling is active, the work is hands on and your effort actually matters to the team, this is the kind of program worth joining.

You’ll be part of an active drilling campaign, working closely with geologists and drill crews across both RC and DD programs. This is a practical, physical role where you’ll develop strong exposure to exploration workflows: sampling, rig support, core handling, site setup and daily field operations.

You won’t be stuck in one corner of the program. Instead, you’ll rotate across field duties, the core yard, and drill support, giving you a well rounded skillset that sets you up for future progression. The team is enthusiastic, safety focused and genuinely looks out for each other, making this a great environment to sharpen your fieldcraft while being supported by people who know the job well.

This tends to suit Field Assistants who enjoy remote work, take pride in doing things properly, and want to keep building high quality experience in a program with momentum.

You’ll be joining a well funded exploration group with long term growth plans and a pipeline of active drilling across multiple high potential targets. The project sits within a larger mineralised system, giving you exposure to meaningful geology – not just maintenance drilling.

You’ll be working with leaders who have a proven track record in WA exploration, and who run programs with clarity, structure, and genuine respect for the team on the ground. As drilling continues to expand, there’s strong potential for contract extension, giving you stability during a period of sustained exploration activity.

What you’ll bring:
  • Minimum 12 months fieldwork experience (both RC + DD experience needed)
  • First Aid & CPR, manual driver’s licence
  • LF ticket desirable
  • Comfortable working remotely and supporting sampling, rig duties and core yard tasks
  • A positive attitude and strong safety mindset.
Roster:
  • FIFO from Perth – 2/2 roster
  • Minimum 6-month contract, with extension likely due to ongoing drilling.
If you want to grow your RC/DD experience in a supportive team on an active exploration program, apply now or reach out for a confidential chat.

Unfortunately, MPI are only able to consider people with appropriate and relevant experience, and who are either Australian Permanent Residents or have the necessary permits to work in Australia and whom are currently in Australia.
