Pit Technician
If you’ve done the single pit routine and want broader experience across different ore bodies and pit stages, this role offers the variety and consistency you’ve been looking for.
You’ll work hands on across several active open pit mines in the WA Goldfields, supporting production teams that rely on accurate sampling, clean markups and consistent fieldwork. Each swing you’ll step into a small, well structured geology team – typically a Senior Geo, Mine Geo and Pit Tech – so your contribution is visible, valued and directly tied to keeping mining on track.
Your work will include pit floor inspections, sample collection, markups, and supporting short term mining workflows that shift between pits and campaigns. It’s a role suited to Pit Techs who enjoy moving between sites, staying busy, and building a broader skillset across different ore bodies, pit stages and development sequences.
You’ll join an established WA Goldfields contractor with decades of operating, developing and supporting open pit gold mines across the region. They’re known for technically driven programs and for partnering long term with operators across the Goldfields.
This position is offered as a contract role with a minimum of three months’ work, with the possibility of longer term opportunities as projects continue.

What you’ll bring:
- Previous Pit Technician experience in open pit mining (minimum 12 months)
- Ability to work independently across different sites
- Manual C class licence
- National police check (within 12 months)
- Able to pass a standard mining medical + LabDAS
- Strong safety focus and solid field geology skills (sampling, markups, pit floor inspections).
- FIFO from Perth
- 10/10 roster
- Roving work across multiple WA Goldfields open pit operations.
