Mine Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced engineer-qualified Mine Superintendent on a permanent basis for a gold project within WA to provide technical and operational leadership within a medium to large-scale open pit mining operation. The opportunity is offered on a 14/7 FIFO roster, from Perth.
Reporting to the Mining Manager, you will work closely with the mining contractor to maximise operational efficiency through effective planning and execution, while maintaining the highest standards of safe mining practices. This role presents an excellent opportunity to contribute to a project start-up environment and play a key role in building a high-performing production team.

Key responsibilities:
- Provide technical and supervisory leadership across all aspects of mine production, including scheduling, mine planning, and coordination of personnel, equipment, and resources to achieve production targets
- Lead day-to-day mine production activities in accordance with Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022
- Oversee shift processes and provide clear direction to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Maintain strong safety leadership and ensure compliance with operational and equipment safety standards
- Manage workloads and allocate duties across production teams to deliver mine plan objectives
- Foster a positive team culture aligned with company values
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across mining operations
- Conduct inspections and maintain accurate operational records and reporting
- Maintain strong collaboration with the principal mining contractor and internal stakeholders.

Key requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in open pit, ideally Gold within WA
- Degree in Mining Engineering recognised in Australia
- WA Quarry Manager’s Certificate (or equivalent approved certification)
- Strong short- to medium-term planning and scheduling capability
- Proven experience developing dig plans considering environmental factors, ground conditions, and pit design
- Demonstrated contractor management experience
- Strong operational leadership and decision-making capability
- Ability to communicate complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience managing dewatering crews
- Experience using mining software (preferably Surpac)
- Manual C class driver’s licence
- Senior First Aid Certificate.
