Senior Environmental Advisor
If you’re done carrying senior accountability without real authority, this role changes that. Here, your judgement is trusted, your expertise is visible, and environmental decisions genuinely shape how the project is built and run.
This Senior Environmental Advisor role sits within a gold project transitioning from construction into production — a rare opportunity to embed environmental excellence before operational habits are set.
Reporting directly to the Environmental Manager, you’ll have clear authority, a defined scope, and visible leadership backing to deliver outcomes rather than navigate internal friction. You won’t be buried in approvals purgatory or diluted by endless sign‑offs. Instead, you’ll own environmental performance and be trusted to make sound, practical decisions.
You’ll lead statutory approvals and compliance across WA legislation, maintain and improve the EMS, track land disturbance, and plan rehabilitation with intent — not as an afterthought.
The work is hands‑on, visible, and respected. You’ll work closely with operations, mine planning and contractors to make sure environmental controls actually function on site, not just on paper. You’ll also engage with Traditional Owners and stakeholders in a transparent, respectful way, within a high‑trust environment that values delivery over ego.
This is a defined, well‑resourced project with stable leadership and a clear path from construction through to production. Environmental performance is treated as a core part of project success — not a box to tick or a problem to manage later.
Environmental professionals here aren’t sidelined or brought in after decisions are made. They’re involved early, supported openly, and given the tools to do senior‑level work properly. People stay because they’re trusted, resourced, and can see a clear link between their work and real project outcomes.
This role suits someone with 5+ years’ experience in mining environmental management who is ready for recognition that finally matches responsibility. If you’re tired of being undervalued, firefighting avoidable issues, or pushing uphill through bureaucracy, this environment will feel refreshingly different.
You’ll receive a competitive salary, remote‑site accommodation, structured support, and clear progression within a stable project lifecycle — where your impact is tangible and lasting.
What you’ll bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Engineering or similar
- Strong working knowledge of WA environmental legislation
- Mining approvals, compliance and reporting experience
- Confidence working across operational and stakeholder interfaces
- Current C class driver’s licence
- If you’re ready for senior environmental responsibility with real authority and visible impact, apply now. We’ll be in touch promptly.
Unfortunately, MPI Recruitment are only able to consider candidates with appropriate and relevant experience who are Australian Permanent Residents or hold valid Australian working rights.
