Lead Mining Engineer
We are partnering with a leading Australian mining technical consulting firm to recruit a Lead Mining Engineer – Studies to take full technical ownership of mining studies across a diverse portfolio of commodities and project stages. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will guide multi-disciplinary teams, influence key investment decisions and deliver technically robust, execution-ready outcomes for clients.
Reporting to the Manager of BD & Studies, you will act as the single point of technical accountability for assigned studies, leading delivery from early concept through to feasibility. You will integrate inputs across all disciplines, ensuring studies are aligned, defensible and deliver real value to clients.

Key responsibilities include:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of mining studies, ensuring integration across all technical disciplines
- Develop and manage study execution plans, schedules, budgets and interfaces
- Act as Technical Lead across all study phases (Concept, Scoping, PFS, FS and trade-off studies)
- Build and develop pipeline of work in WA and international markets
- Define study basis, assumptions and design criteria, ensuring alignment across all inputs
- Own technical integrity, governance and compliance
- Act as the primary client interface, supporting decision-making, proposals and study progression
- Identify and manage risks while driving value optimisation across mining strategy and project economics
- Lead technical reviews, risk workshops and value improvement initiatives
- Mentor and lead teams, fostering a high-performance culture with strong safety, quality and development focus
- Ensure studies are delivered on time, on budget, and to agreed quality standards.
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline
- 10–15+ years’ experience within the mining industry
- Background in feasibility studies and technical services, with operational experience highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience in WA mining, preferably within base metals, gold or similar commodities
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary studies
- Commercially savvy with strong decision-making capability
- Excellent communication skills with confidence engaging senior stakeholders
- High level of professionalism, integrity and accountability.
