Project Underground Mine Geologist

If you’re at a point where you just want to do the work properly, without hand holding or noise, this role is designed for you. It’s short term, project level underground geology work where your experience will be trusted from day one.

This contract Project Underground Mine Geologist role is about providing experienced operational coverage during a planned leave window from late May to mid-September. You’ll be stepping into an established underground gold operation with clear systems, defined processes, and an existing technical services structure already in place.

The focus is on maintaining continuity and standards rather than restructuring or reinventing workflows. You’ll be trusted to manage sign offs, reconciliation, and geological inputs without needing constant oversight. This suits someone who has operated at a project or senior operational level and understands how underground decisions flow through planning and production.

Day to day, you’ll work across grade control and production geology tasks including sign off responsibilities, assay validation, stope reconciliation, and end of month deliverables. The expectation is simple: arrive prepared, integrate quickly, and keep the operation running smoothly while key personnel are on leave.

The roster is 8:6 FIFO ex Perth into Leonora.

The operation behind this role is well established, technically disciplined, and actively progressing underground development and resource confidence. It’s an environment where geology inputs are taken seriously and where clear, defensible work is valued.

You’ll be using your experience in:
  • Charge plan and stope poster sign offs
  • Stope reconciliation
  • Sample line creation in Vulcan
  • Importing, validating and managing assays, including re assays
  • End of month development solid creation
  • Core logging and core processing support.

Strong working knowledge of Vulcan, AcQuire, and the Microsoft Office suite is expected. This works well for someone who enjoys stepping into defined scopes, delivering quality work, and then stepping back out.

If this sounds like a practical use of your experience over the coming months, apply now!

Unfortunately, MPI Recruitment can only consider applicants with relevant qualifications and experience who are Australian Permanent Residents or hold valid working rights for Australia.
