Plant Metallurgist

Here's your opportunity to join a processing operation as it undergoes recommissioning and upgrades, with changing ore sources, evolving plant conditions and plenty of scope to influence how things run.

You’ll be on site, working across a copper‑gold operation with flotation and gold Dore recovery circuits. From stockpiled oxide campaigns through to steady-state ore, the plant will keep changing and your role will move with it.

With a 40-minute flight from Perth, and daylight travel, you will not be dealing with red-eye starts and finishes each swing.

You’ll enjoy:
  • Working side-by-side with operators and being part of driving plant performance
  • Getting satisfaction from troubleshooting and improving plant recoveries in real time
  • Exposure to both flotation and gold circuits in the one plant
  • Work environments where process optimisation is still being refined — not locked in and rigid
  • Influencing the day to day operation of the plant
  • There’s a real “build phase” feel here — not greenfield in the pure sense, but an operation that’s still taking shape and improving as it goes.
To step into this role, you’ll need:
  • 4–5 years’ experience in an operational mineral processing environment
  • A degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or similar
  • Exposure to flotation and/or gold CIL processing
  • A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved with processing strategy and the day-to-day operations
  • FIFO 8/6 from Perth, camp-based role, with short, daytime travel.
If you’re ready for a role where you’re not just maintaining performance but helping shape it from the ground up, let’s talk!

Unfortunately, MPI are only able to consider people with appropriate and relevant experience, and who are either Australian Permanent Residents or have the necessary permits to work in Australia and whom are currently in Australia.
