Senior Planning Engineer

This Opportunity:
This role is for someone who wants to lead, challenge and build.

A leader who finds purpose by influencing and innovation not maintenance and complacency.

You will be backed by a committed crew, who are focussed on continuous improvement and elevating the well-established underground operation year on year.

Your impact will span from concept through to design, schedule and delivery. You won’t get bored here and you’ll have full, end to end exposure across the mining lifecycle. Not only that, but you also won’t be siloed either!

This opening welcomes you within an owner-operator model, supported by defined growth plans not only for the mine but also for your career. The future is expanding, with advanced plans to develop multiple additional underground mines, creating further opportunity for growth and progression.

If you’re attracted to building-on something and continuous improvement is at the forefront of your mind… Imagine what possibilities there are in an environment like this one, where your tenacity will join forces with likeminded people.

Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, this role leads a team of Planning Engineers and takes ownership of all mine planning activities on site. The focus is on guiding and lifting team capability, ensuring plans are executed to schedule, and production is delivered in line with guidance.
Accountability includes driving improvement across mine planning systems and processes, alongside ownership of the annual budget covering design, scheduling and mining costs, as well as the delivery of monthly and quarterly forecasts.

Key requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
  • 5+ years’ underground mining engineering experience, particularly within narrow vein environments.
  • Advanced capability in Deswik (CAD, SO, IS, SCHED)
  • Solid understanding of WA WHS Act and Mining Regulations
  • WA-based, with familiarity of the local operating environment.
Bonus but not required:
  • First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate
  • Alternate Underground Manager Ticket.
Unfortunately, MPI are only able to consider people with appropriate and relevant experience, and who are either Australian Permanent Residents or have the necessary permits to work in Australia and whom are currently in Australia.
