Mining Manager
We are pleased to be partnering with a leading WA Gold producer to recruit a Mining Manager on a permanent basis within the Kalgoorlie goldfields. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing both open pit and underground mining operations across site.
Working on a 4 days on, 3 days off FIFO roster from Perth, you will play a critical role in delivering safe, predictable and cost-effective production outcomes while driving operational excellence and building a high-performing culture. Flexibility may also be considered for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading all day-to-day mining activities across open pit and underground operations
- Driving a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all statutory obligations
- Delivering production targets in line with budget, schedule and strategic objectives
- Optimising operational performance through planning discipline and continuous improvement initiatives
- Mentoring and developing operational leadership teams to build capability and engagement
- Contributing to the long-term success and strategic direction of the operation
- Oversee operational plans, approve designs, review progress against benchmarks, and realign strategies where required
- Drive continuous improvement by reviewing mining methods, equipment purchases, utilisation, and allocation
- Sponsor and advocate for business improvement initiatives and technology adoption to optimise cost, production, and energy effectiveness.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years experience in underground mining, ideally within WA gold operations
- Degree in Mining Engineering recognised in Australia
- WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate as well as SSE qualifications
- Strong stakeholder engagement capability
- Demonstrated ability to align safety, production, and planning outcomes
- Proven experience managing budgets, forecasts, and cost performance
- A strategic leader with excellent communication skills and a focus on long-term success
- Manual C class driver’s licence.
