Senior Mine Geologist

We are partnering with one of our key clients to recruit a Senior Mine Geologist on a permanent basis for their Lithium project near Kalgoorlie as they transition into production. Play a key leadership role in establishing and developing the geology function across both open pit and underground operations.

Reporting to the Geology Manager, you will provide technical leadership across grade control, geological modelling, reconciliation, and production support activities. Working closely with Mining, Planning and Technical Services teams, you will ensure geological information is translated into practical operational outcomes that maximise value and support safe, efficient production. This position is ideally suited to a proactive and technically capable geologist who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, taking ownership of outcomes, and contributing to the growth of a developing mining operation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide senior geological support to open pit and underground development and production activities
  • Lead geological mapping, sampling, interpretation and data collection programs
  • Oversee grade control processes and ensure high-quality geological data capture
  • Support resource development drilling programs and geological modelling activities
  • Deliver timely geological guidance to optimise ore extraction and minimise dilution
  • Drive reconciliation processes and provide detailed analysis of mining performance
  • Maintain and improve geological databases, systems and reporting frameworks
  • Mentor and support Mine Geologists and geological technicians
  • Work closely with Mining, Planning and Technical Services teams to achieve operational objectives
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across geological processes
  • Demonstrate strong leadership in safety, environmental and community standards
Key Requirements:
  • Significant experience in mine geology within open pit and/or underground mining operations
  • Must have lithium mining experience
  • Degree in Geology recognised in Australia
  • Previous experience in a senior or leadership geology position
  • Strong geological interpretation, modelling and grade control experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary technical teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong problem-solving capability with a practical and solutions-focused mindset
  • Sound understanding of mining operational practices and safety systems
  • Manual C class driver’s licence
