Underground Health Safety Training Advisor

Advance your underground mining expertise in a role that combines hands-on training, competency assessment, and safety leadership. Use your skills daily to build competent teams and strengthen safety culture without politics or bureaucracy.

Experienced underground miners and trainers often stay in roles that limit growth or undervalue practical expertise. This position delivers real progression: deliver targeted training and assessments for underground mobile plant operators while driving continuous improvement in health, safety, environment, and training systems.

You will work directly with operational supervisors, project managers, and site teams across underground operations. Focus on workplace-based training, Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments, practical and theoretical sessions, and maintaining clear competency records. Identify gaps, mentor operators, and implement corrective actions that matter.

On the safety side, lead by example through workplace inspections, incident investigations, risk assessments, JHA/SWMS development, and compliance monitoring. Support a positive safety culture where your input shapes procedures and outcomes.

This role suits professionals tired of fragmented systems or inconsistent standards. You gain autonomy to apply deep underground mobile plant knowledge—covering equipment like integrated tool carriers, agitators, telehandlers, service vehicles, water carts, charge-up units, and ancillary machinery—while backed by stable operations and supportive leadership.

The operation values hands-on capability and results. Expect long-term employment, diverse underground exposure, competitive remuneration, and the chance to influence workforce development and safety performance directly. Resources and structure exist to let you focus on meaningful work rather than administrative friction.

You will be trusted to lead training, VOC assessments, and safety initiatives that directly improve team competency and site performance. You join stable underground operations with clear scope and supportive management that removes barriers. You build on 5–7+ years of underground experience in a role that rewards practical expertise and continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements:
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSB41419 or equivalent)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
  • Current Australian driver's licence
  • National Police Clearance.
If you are ready to use your full skill set in a practical, high-impact underground environment, apply now.
