Exploration Health and Safety Advisor
Staying compliant isn’t the same as building a culture where people actually go home safe every day. This Health and Safety Advisor role is built for someone who wants to drive real safety outcomes in the field, not just tick boxes.
You will step into a well-established mineral exploration operation with a proven track record of discovering world-class gold-copper deposits. The team is experienced, the systems are in place, and you will be trusted to strengthen them. No building from scratch. No politics. Just focused work making sure everyone returns home safely after long shifts.
This 6-month fixed-term casual contract (with strong potential for extension or permanency) operates on a 12/9 field roster – Thursday in, Monday out – during the main campaign season March to December. You report directly to the Exploration Manager and work with a core team of 8-10 and assorted contractors.
In this role you will maintain and update existing safety systems, conduct site inspections, coach and mentor the team, lead ICAM incident investigations, facilitate risk assessments and JHAs, run health and hygiene testing, deliver training, lead safety meetings and toolboxes, manage return-to-work processes, and handle traffic and journey management. You will generate clear safety reports and track performance statistics that actually get used.
The company behind this role takes safety seriously because they know it underpins everything they achieve in one of Western Australia’s most prospective exploration regions. People stay because they are given the resources, autonomy, and respect to do the job properly. You will work across active field operations where your input directly shapes daily decisions and keeps operations running smoothly.
You will be trusted to make decisions that shape safety outcomes on active exploration programs, join a stable, high-performing team that values competence and results, and have a clear pathway from contract to permanency in a company with ongoing discovery success.
This role suits someone who enjoys the hands-on nature of exploration and mining environments and wants to use their expertise where it matters most.
