Pit Technician
Located in the Eastern Goldfields, you will be working on one of the largest gold deposits in WA—an opportunity not to be missed.
Supporting the Geology team across open pit operations, you will be responsible for ore spotting and ore mark-ups. During this 3-month contract, you will work a 2:2 roster, initially on day shift before transitioning to a rotating day and night shift roster.
You will be responsible for collecting data, assisting with ore classification and QA/QC activities, and supporting safety and environmental compliance initiatives.

About You
Unfortunately, MPI is only able to consider applicants with appropriate and relevant experience who are either Australian Permanent Residents or hold the necessary work rights to work in Australia and are currently located in Australia.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the marking out of ore and waste blocks
- Assist with Blast Movement Monitoring (BMM) installation and pick-ups
- Support safety and environmental compliance initiatives
- Collaborate with mine geologists, engineers, and other team members to optimise pit design and operations
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of geological activities.
About You
- Proven experience working in open pit mining and supporting geology teams
- Strong understanding of geological mapping and sampling techniques
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications and exceptional record-keeping skills
- Valid WA Manual C class driver's licence
- Hold a Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certificate or higher qualification (desirable)
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments and adapt to varying weather conditions.
