Senior Mine Geologist
Ready to help shape the next chapter of a growing gold operation?
If you're an experienced mine geologist looking for a role with more influence, broader technical exposure and genuine leadership opportunities, this could be the next step in your career.
FIFO 15:13 into the Northern Territory, this opportunity offers the chance to join a gold operation at an exciting stage of growth. With active open pit production and underground portals coming online, the role provides the variety and technical exposure that many Senior Geologists seek but rarely find. You'll play a key role in guiding production geology activities while helping shape a growing team and supporting the next stage of the operation's development.
Working closely with the Geology Superintendent, you'll lead production geology activities, support grade control and reconciliation programs, and provide technical guidance to both geology and mining teams. You'll also play an important role in mentoring geologists and helping build capability within an expanding department.
This role offers a balance of technical and leadership responsibilities. You'll contribute to geological interpretation, ore delineation and continuous improvement initiatives while remaining closely connected to day-to-day mining activities. As the operation continues to evolve, you'll have the opportunity to influence geological processes, improve systems and help establish best-practice approaches across the team.
You'll be joining a business that values technical expertise, practical problem-solving and collaboration. It's an environment where your input will be welcomed, your experience will be recognised and your contribution will be visible across the operation.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor of Geology, Earth Sciences or related discipline
- 8+ years' mine geology experience within operating open pit mines
- Strong capability in grade control, geological interpretation and reconciliation
- Experience mentoring, supervising or developing geology personnel
- Proficiency in Leapfrog, Deswik and Microsoft Office.
If you're looking for a role that combines leadership, technical geology and exposure to both open pit and underground mining environments, we'd love to hear from you.
Unfortunately, MPI Recruitment can only consider applicants with relevant qualifications and experience who are Australian Permanent Residents or hold valid working rights for Australia.
