Senior Surface Mining Engineer
The opportunity:

Located within the highly prospective Tennant Creek Mineral Field, this opportunity sits with one of Australia's growing gold producers, focused on developing and operating high-quality gold assets in the Northern Territory.
With a fully funded development plan and significant exploration upside, this role offers broad exposure across strategic, tactical and short-term mine planning, while providing the opportunity to influence operational performance, optimisation initiatives and future growth alongside site leadership.
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining life-of-mine, budget, medium and short-term mine plans that support safe, efficient and sustainable production outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Mine planning, design and scheduling
- Production forecasting, budgeting and reporting
- Monitoring plan compliance and production performance
- Equipment productivity analysis and optimisation initiatives
- Technical support to operations, contractors and stakeholders
- Leading and mentoring Mining Engineers
- Supporting the safe execution of mining activities in line with site objectives.
- FIFO 15/13 roster into NT
- Single-room ensuite accommodation
- Exposure to both open pit operations and underground development activities
- Broad technical scope across life-of-mine, budget, medium and short-term planning
- Leadership responsibility within the Technical Services team
- Opportunity to contribute to the development of a long-life mining operation with ongoing growth and exploration potential.
- Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or equivalent
- 8+ years' open pit mining engineering experience
- Strong experience in mine planning, scheduling, forecasting and operational improvement
- Experience with budgeting, reporting and contractor management
- Advanced proficiency in Deswik
- Strong analytical, planning and stakeholder engagement skills.
