Senior Field Technician

Join a copper exploration project where you'll take a lead role supporting a diamond drilling program scheduled to run through to early December. This is a hands-on senior position where you'll have genuine ownership of day-to-day field activities while helping mentor and develop junior technicians in the field.

Working a 2:1 FIFO roster, you'll join a small field team focused on delivering a safe and productive drilling program. You'll spend your time supporting drilling operations, managing core and samples, and ensuring field activities run smoothly. FIFO options are available from Townsville, Brisbane and Cairns, with site located approximately one hour from Mount Isa.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting diamond drilling operations
• Core yad setup, organisation, and management
• Core cutting and sampling
• Assisting with RC pre-collars (highly regarded)
• Sample dispatch and logistics coordination
• Drill pad clearing and general field support
• Supervising day-to-day field activities
• Training and mentoring junior Field Technicians.

This role will suit a Senior Field Technician who enjoys being out in the field rather than sitting on the sidelines. You'll be trusted to manage your work, take ownership of field activities, and play an important role in keeping the drilling program running efficiently. The mentoring component also provides an opportunity to pass on your knowledge and help less experienced technicians build their skills.

You will have:

• Strong diamond drilling experience
• Previous core cutting experience
• Exposure to base metals exploration (preferred)
• The ability to work independently and supervise junior staff
• A current manual driver's licence
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• A proactive approach to fieldwork and safety.
