Field Technician

Working an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth to Meekatharra, you'll play a key role in supporting geologists and drillers across a range of field and core yard activities. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys practical site work, working outdoors, and being part of a collaborative team.

You'll gain exposure to active drilling programs while learning from experienced geologists and senior field staff in a supportive environment. With a family-friendly roster and a variety of daily tasks, this role would suit someone looking to further develop their field-based geology support experience.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting drilling and geology activities across site
  • Assisting with core shed operations and sample management
  • Core cutting, processing, and handling
  • Sample collection, preparation, and dispatch
  • Assisting geologists with field-based activities
  • Maintaining accurate records and QA/QC procedures
  • Supporting safe and efficient field operations
  • General field and logistical support as required.

You will have:
  • Core shed experience (highly regarded)
  • A current WA Manual driver's licence
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A proactive approach to safety and fieldwork
  • LF Forklift Ticket (preferred)
  • First Aid Certificate (preferred).

If you're looking for a varied Field Assistant role where you can develop your skills, learn from experienced professionals, and enjoy a balanced 8:6 FIFO roster, we'd love to hear from you.

Unfortunately, MPI are only able to consider candidates with relevant experience who are Australian permanent residents or hold the necessary Australian working rights and are currently located within Australia.
