Planning Engineer

We are partnering with a high-grade underground gold operation seeking an experienced Planning Engineer for both contract and permanent opportunities to join site on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.

Reporting to the Planning Superintendent / Mining Manager, this role offers broad exposure across mine planning, ventilation, infrastructure planning, budgeting and life-of-mine optimisation in a technically challenging narrow-vein mining environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual mine plans
  • Produce budgets, reserve estimates and mining scenarios
  • Ensure effective planning of ventilation and underground infrastructure systems
  • Maintain planning compliance, CAD files and scheduling data
  • Support operational teams with planning and technical guidance
  • Contribute to statutory compliance and safe mine operations
  • Work closely with site leadership to optimise mine performance and future mining strategies.

About You:
  • Degree qualified in Mining Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong underground hard rock mining experience
  • Proven capability in mine planning, production engineering and drill & blast
  • Exposure to underground ventilation planning and infrastructure systems
  • Experience in narrow-vein underground mining highly regarded
  • Proficient with Deswik
  • WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate desirable but not essential
  • Current WA manual driver's licence.
