Drill Geologist

If you're an underground geologist who wants greater ownership of drill programs and the opportunity to see your work directly influence mine planning and production outcomes, this could be your next step.

Working an 8/6 FIFO roster ex Perth, you'll take responsibility for the design, execution and optimisation of underground drilling programs that support resource definition and short to medium-term planning. The position sits within a collaborative technical team where geological interpretation, data quality and practical decision-making are genuinely valued.

The operation is supported by ongoing development and resource growth, creating a consistent pipeline of drilling activity and technical work. Success in the role will come from your ability to understand geological controls, design effective programs and produce quality information that can be relied upon by geology, mining and technical services teams alike.

Alongside a competitive salary package, you'll have access to company-supported private health insurance, a potential bonus structure and single-room accommodation with your own bathroom. Camp facilities include sports courts and walking tracks, while the 8/6 roster provides a balance between site commitments and time away.

This is a position for someone who enjoys combining technical geological work with practical operational outcomes. You'll have the opportunity to contribute directly to reserve growth, geological interpretation and drilling strategies within a busy underground environment.

You'll be responsible for planning and managing underground drilling programs, logging and interpretation of drill core, maintaining geological data quality and supporting geological modelling activities. The role requires regular collaboration with mining and technical services personnel to ensure drilling outcomes align with operational priorities and longer-term planning requirements.

What You'll Bring

  • Underground mining geology experience, ideally within gold operations
  • Experience designing and managing underground drilling programs
  • Strong core logging, geological interpretation and data management skills
  • Experience using Vulcan, Leapfrog, Surpac or similar geological software
  • A degree in Geology and approximately 3-5 years' relevant industry experience
  • Australian working rights and a current driver's licence.

If you're looking for a role where your technical input is valued, your drill programs have a direct impact on the operation and your career can continue to develop within a growing mining business, we'd welcome a confidential discussion.

Unfortunately, MPI are only able to consider people with appropriate and relevant experience, and who are either Australian Permanent Residents or have the necessary permits to work in Australia and whom are currently in Australia.
