Core Yard Technician

If you're an experienced Geology Technician with a background in core processing and drill support, this is an excellent opportunity to join a busy gold operation supporting an expanding DD program.

With two underground diamond drill rigs currently operating and a third expected to commence shortly, additional support is required to manage increasing volumes and provide back-to-back coverage within the core yard team.

This 3-month FIFO contract from Perth, commences late October on a 2:2 roster (Thursday to Thursday). Drilling is expected to pause over the Christmas period, so you'll have an extended break before rejoining the program as activities ramp back up in the new year.
Accommodation includes ensuite rooms and all flight and site transfers are within paid work hours.  The core yard has also recently been upgraded, with further improvements planned.

Key responsibilities:

• Core processing, metre marking and tray preparation
• Core orientation checks and handling of geological data
• Experience in MagSus measurements
• Assisting geologists with logging and sampling activities
• Maintaining accurate records using Acquire
• Adhering to site safety standards and operational procedures.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• At least 12 months' experience working as a Core Yard Technician or a Field Assistant supporting diamond drilling programs
• Demonstrated experience with core processing and metre marking
• Exposure to Acquire or similar database software
• Current C Class manual driver's licence
• Current Forklift Licence
• A current national police clearance.
