Health and Safety Coordinator
If you're good at safety but tired of spending more time managing paperwork than influencing how work is done, this role gives you the opportunity to get back into the field and make a genuine impact.
You'll join a well-established mining operation where your experience, judgement and ability to influence people will be valued. Rather than simply maintaining systems, you'll help strengthen critical risk management practices, improve safety conversations and support leaders to make better decisions in real-world operational environments.
This OHS Coordinator position offers an initial three-month contract on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth. You'll be working alongside operational leaders and frontline teams to identify risks, verify critical controls and ensure safety processes are delivering practical outcomes, not just meeting compliance requirements.
You'll be trusted to coach supervisors and leaders through challenging situations, helping them build confidence in hazard identification, risk assessment and control effectiveness. Your investigation experience will also be put to good use, leading and supporting ICAM investigations that uncover meaningful causes and drive lasting improvements.
The team is supportive, collaborative and focused on continuous improvement. You'll be stepping into an established operation with clear expectations, experienced stakeholders and the systems already in place to allow you to contribute from day one. The work is varied, people-focused and suited to someone who prefers practical engagement over sitting behind a desk.
The organisation behind this role is committed to maintaining strong operational and safety standards while continuing to improve how work is conducted across site. They're known for supporting practical safety leadership and encouraging people to challenge the status quo when better outcomes can be achieved.
People in this environment succeed because they're trusted to use their expertise rather than simply follow a checklist. You'll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of operational activities while applying your knowledge of risk management, critical controls and incident investigation methodologies.
This role is likely to suit someone with experience in mining or heavy industry who holds a Cert IV in Work Health & Safety (or higher), has a current manual driver's licence and enjoys coaching leaders to improve safety performance.
Unfortunately, MPI Recruitment are only able to consider candidates with appropriate and relevant experience who are Australian Permanent Residents or hold valid Australian working rights.
