Feasibility Study Manager
Skills, knowledge and abilities
- Executing feasibility study work in domestic and international markets
- Experience providing timely and accurate reports to board and senior executives, high quality of reporting skills.
Education and experience
- A relevant degree (e.g., mineral processing, mining engineering or geology) or postgraduate qualification (e.g., metallurgy)
- Feasibility project management experience in mining projects and an operational understanding of relevant processes.
Civil Construction Project Supervisor
Skills, knowledge and abilities
- Frontline management of contractors and material deliveries
- Review drawings, scopes and specifications for compliance
- Assist in the execution of civil quality documentation
- Assist in the development and review of project documentation (e.g., project execution plans, project master schedules, construction risk assessments)
- Participate in Constructability workshops, safety meetings and other project-related meetings
- Possess leadership skills.
Education and experience
- Trade- or degree-qualified
- A number of years’ experience in construction.
Civil Construction Manager
Skills, knowledge and abilities
- Construction contractor management (e.g., health and safety, schedule compliance, budgets), stakeholder management and reporting
- Development and review of relevant project documentation (e.g., project execution plans, project master schedules, supplier management plans, traffic management plans)
- Management of logistics of contractors and material deliveries
- Participation in Constructability workshops, safety meetings and other project-related meetings
- Leadership skills.
Education and experience
- Trade- or degree-qualified
- Significant experience in construction (e.g., 10 years).
Mechanical Project Engineer
Skills, knowledge and abilities
- Review drawings, datasheets, scopes and specifications for compliance
- Manage mechanical quality documentation (e.g., field verification of contractor hold points), reporting, and the development of scope documents for the execution of works and procurement of materials and equipment
- Liaise with engineering service providers on design and technical queries, assist in the management of logistics of contractors and material deliveries
- Assist in the development and review of relevant project documentation (e.g., project execution plans, project master schedules, construction risk assessments)
- Participate in Constructability workshops, safety meetings and other project-related meetings
- Possess leadership skills.
Education and experience
- Degree-qualified
- Several years’ post-graduate experience (mining-related experience is often preferred and experience in the execution of construction projects is essential).
Project Manager
Skills, knowledge and abilities
- Stakeholder management, service provider management, schedule compliance, budgeting
- Development and review of relevant project documentation (e.g., project execution plans, project master schedules, supplier management plans, construction risk assessments)
- Manage logistics of contractors for site visits
- Participate in Constructability workshops, safety meetings and other project-related meetings
- Provide direction to project engineers.
Education and experience
- Degree- or trade-qualified
- Significant experience in projects (e.g., 10 years) including experience in construction project execution.
Engineering Manager
Skills, knowledge and abilities
- Experience in delivering on-time engineering fixed plant and services design to international standards
- Experience in contractor management
- Contemporary knowledge of asset management practices
- Familiarity with the mining and metals industry.
Education and experience
- Degree in engineering (e.g., civil, electrical, mechanical). Preferably relevant postgraduate qualifications (e.g., engineering plant design)
- Significant experience in senior engineering roles (e.g., 10 years) including experience in construction project execution.
Mechanical Engineer
Skills, knowledge and abilities
- Able to design mechanical and electromechanical products and systems
- Able to assure system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and system capabilities; and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes meet or exceed the design
- Prepare product reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends
- Leadership skills.
Education and experience
- Degree in mechanical engineering. Preferably relevant postgraduate qualifications
- Solid experience in a mechanical engineering role (e.g., five years).
Electrical Project Engineer
Skills, knowledge and abilities
- Reviewing drawings, datasheets, scopes and specifications for compliance
- Managing E&I quality documentation, reporting, developing scope documents for the execution of works, and procurement of materials and equipment
- Liaising with engineering service providers on design and technical queries
- Helping develop and review relevant project documentation (e.g., project execution plans, project master schedules, business readiness plans)
- Helping manage logistics of contractors and material deliveries
- Participating in Constructability workshops, safety meetings and other project-related meetings
Education and experience
- Degree-qualified
- Solid relevant experience (e.g., five years).
Senior Surveyor
Skills, knowledge and abilities
(Note: a surveyor would assist the senior surveyor in these duties)
- Provide accurate surface surveys to produce information for the construction of effective mine designs
- Maintain an accurate plan of the mine, update maps of the surface layout, ensure mine workings are surveyed in order to keep a record of operations
- Survey stockpiles of material
- Help in the preparation of plans, schedules and targets; communicate planning outcomes to relevant personnel; manage costs within budget; ensure surveyors are performing to the required standard.
Education and experience
- Advanced diploma or tertiary survey degree
- Solid relevant experience (e.g., five years).
Estimator
Skills, knowledge and abilities
- Understand the project/program and its requirements, determine key variables for costs and other estimates, gather firsthand information from sites, warehouses or other venues
- Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, etc
- Use software for data analysis, forecasting and budgeting; obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors; perform risk analyses
- Create and submit estimate reports or bids to stakeholders.
Education and experience
- Degree in engineering, construction science or relevant discipline
- Proven experience as an estimator.
Draftsperson
Skills, knowledge and abilities
- Follow specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings
- Prepare both rough sketches and detailed work with CADD systems
- Perform calculations for materials and weight limitations
- Communicate with architects and engineers, and incorporate knowledge gained into drawings
- Prepare, review and redraft alongside the engineering team.
Education and experience
- Relevant degree or technical college qualification
- Experience in CADD.
