When it comes to finding a labouring or entry level job, we know the mining and resources industry is often seen as a strong ‘magnet’. It attracts large numbers of jobseekers, some of whom with no experience, to try their hand.
Getting a start as a General Labourer or Trades Assistant (TA) is often the way newcomers begin their career in the mining industry. As a result, there is usually large numbers of applicants to screen. This can sometimes make for a frustrating experience for the job seeker and the employer.
